GORDON PEAKE was then Chairman of the North East Hants Archaeological Society (now NEHHAS). He was invited by Luath Grant Ferguson to give the lectures on the archaeology of Yateley to the Study of Yateley course. Even though he did not live in Yateley, Gordon volunteered to be Chairman of the Steering Committee which lead to the formation of the Yateley Society. He joined the committee of the newly formed Society as Vice Chairman, and organised its Public Lecture Programme for the first three years.
