Yateley Church and Churchyard Monumental Inscriptions Plots E to H

This churchyard is supposedly closed, but memorials are still being added. This survey was up to date at 1997 incorporating earlier surveys where gravestones had been lost. A few gravestones lost in a rubbish heap were recovered and their details added in 2001.

Warning: This version of the records is not wholly satisfactory, as it was created automatically, and some of the font styles like superscript and subscript have been lost, and some data has got confused and interpreted as codes used by pbwiki for font styles. We have a better version available.

Please let us know through this email link if you use this material and share with us your Yateley relevant research for our Local History Collection. We will be thankful, and it is also in your interest, as we have a lot of other material and possibly have made contact with other family or local history researchers who can help you.

previous survey said: Harry HULFORD, but said "Name of person in inscription almost obliterated". Can HULFORD be true? Extraordinarily unlikely in view of the date, age and surname of the register entry, and lack of HULFORD entries at that time.

Line 3: starts with a letter with a leading downward stroke and ends with "d". Conjectured text: "HENRY JOHN SELLWOOD beloved". there is certainly enough space if one of his names is contracted or omitted.

Line 4: The woman's name certainly ends in Y, only bottoms of the other letters survive: they consistent with FANNY. Her surname is certainly SELLWOOD, this entire word survives complete and is very clear.
