Cherry Tree Cottages

Cherry Tree Cottages were built about 1912 to replace two old thatched cottages. The village cobbler worked at one of the old cottages; the new ones housed the policeman at number 2 and the telephone exchange at number 1. The first telephone numbers were:

• Yateley 1 for the Post Office,
• Yateley 2 for The Dog & Partridge, and
• Yateley 3 for Chaddisbrook House, adjoining the General Stores.

Cherry trees still grow in front of Cherry Tree Cottages.
