Yateley Society Local History Exhibitions

The Yateley Society held annual exhibitions at May Fayre from 1981 to 1997. These exhibitions were transferred from this one-day event to Yateley Library, where they were displayed for up to six weeks. From 1999, the 25th anniversary of Yateley Library, the Society mounted an annual Local History Exhibition in the Yateley to coincide with National Local History Week (later Month). During the exhibition periods Yateley Library invited the Society to supply a speaker for their annual Yateley Library Lecture. Six of these lectures were held - the last being given by Dr Richard Johnston, Hon. Secretary of the Society about The Haven to coincide with the last annual exhibition in May 2005.
