HOME BREWERS & INNKEEPERS
From the Parish Magazine of May 1878
Since the above was written another accident, sad, sudden, and unforeseen, has occurred. On Thursday, April 18th, Mr. Bartlett was driving home from Finchampstead, and upon arriving almost at his own door his horse shied and swerved, throwing the cart over a heap of rubbish by the side of the road. The jerk threw Mr. Bartlett out, and the fall brought on concussion of the spine, which proved fatal in rather more than twenty-four hours. May God give all the comfort, which He alone is able to bestow, to the bereaved and sorrowing family.
